FIND YOUR

FI

A 9-module course designed to help you find your ideal path to Financial Independence

What is the FIND YOUR FI course?

Find Your FI is a 9-module course designed to help you find your ideal path to Financial Independence

You will be guided through a simple step-by-step process (the Find Your FI Roadmap) to gain a clear understanding of where you stand financially, where you want to go and which path to FI is right for you and your unique lifestyle goals – so that you can start building your ideal future, today.

Find Your FI focuses on the lifestyle side of Financial Independence and covers topics most personal finance books and courses leave out. To us, the ultimate goal is to live a happy, fulfilling life – before and after you reach Financial Independence. This course will show you how to design a plan that allows you to do just that.

Who is this course for?

Find Your FI is right for you if you want to explore alternatives to the standard path to FI that get you your time and freedom back sooner so that you can start living your ideal life.

I created this course specifically for people in the first half of their journey to FI who have a basic understanding of financial independence but who lack clarity when it comes to their numbers and what’s possible for them.

Here are some questions to determine if you are a good fit for this course:

  • Are you confused by all the different “types” of FI out there and wonder how options like semi-retirement are even possible financially?
  • Do you find the thought of being stuck in the 9-5 grind for another decade just to get your time back less than appealing?
  • Are you unsure what your real ‘Why of FI’ is?
  • Do you struggle to determine your FI numbers and future expenses?
  • Are you looking for a lifestyle-focused FI course you can do with your partner to get them on board?

If you answered yes to these questions,  FIND YOUR FI is the course for you.

Whether you are…

  • a parent who are desperate to have more time for their family and ‘me time’
  • a busy professional who is in the early stages of their journey to FI and tired of the 9-5
  • a full-time employee who wants to transition to part-time work but is not sure they can afford it
  • a time-poor worker who dreams of starting a business
  • a single or couple who wants to take an extended amount of time off to travel the world
  • a FIRE enthusiast who is stuck on ‘FI auto pilot’ and isn’t so sure full FI is for them after all
… you are in the right place!

What exactly will I learn?

You will learn how to:

  • Define your real Why of FI (and learn why it’s important)
  • Assess where you currently stand financially
  • Figure out where you actually want to go – your FI destination
  • Decide how quickly you want to get to the finish line
  • Define what Enough means to you
  • Understand what alternative FI strategies there are and how they work (think semi-retirement, Coast FI, Flamingo FI, Barista FI…)
  • Select the ideal FI strategy for your unique lifestyle goals
  • Calculate your FI numbers and figure out your future expenses
  • Find like-minded people, get your partner on board and add some unique elements to your journey
  • Enjoy the process and start living your best life long before you get to FI

FAQ

This course is not a good fit four you if:
  • are past the first half of your journey to FI
  • are confident you know all of your numbers and how to do the FI math
  • are not interested in alternative FI strategies and lifestyle design
  • are looking for information on how to invest or what to invest in (the course does not cover any investing strategies) – you should see a professional who can provide the financial advice you are after
  • are looking for 1:1 support (you can find my 1:1 coaching offering here)
  • are not open to new ideas
I created Find Your FI to give people in the earlier stages of their journey an option to learn and apply all the concepts required to design their ideal path to FI.

Over the years I’ve received many 1:1 coaching enquiries from people who have only just started working towards FI. However, I’ve always held the belief that 1:1 coaching is not the right kind of support for people in the first half of their journey. So far I’ve had to decline these enquiries, but I’ve always wanted to offer an alternative.

I wanted to create an accessible and affordable option for this particular group of people  – something less intense than coaching and something that offers more than a book – guidance, the option to ask questions and a step-by-step process to follow in real time. This course is the result.
You will be able to ask questions via the course platform.
Yes, absolutely! I have tons of free information on the Money Flamingo website and there are many other blogs, podcasts, online tools and books that can help you along your journey to FI.

This course is for those who want to have a step-by-step process to follow, digestible information and guidance from someone who has walked the talk. By enrolling in this course you pay me for my time, experience and the hard work it takes to create a format like this.
Absolutely. The concepts we will cover are universal. 30% of the course participants to date live outside of Australia.
No, this is not an investment course. We will not discuss individual investment assets or strategies, so please don’t join the course if you are looking for this kind of information.

It depends. This could be a great way to start your journey to FI and get the lifestyle decisions right from the start. Just be aware that the course is not a FIRE 101 course. It assumes that you know the basics of how Financial Independence works. If you’ve read a couple of books about FI or followed FIRE blogs for a while you should be fine.

The short answer is yes, but be aware that many of the concepts discussed might not be new to you. Depending on how close to FI you are you might also not be able to change course as effectively as someone who is in the earlier stages of the process. Having said that the course could be a good “brush up” opportunity for someone who is past the half-way mark.

No, sorry. To be honest, if you worry about paying for the course (we are not talking about thousands of dollars here) in one hit you might not be ready for it yet. Focus on your personal finance basics first and get some buffers before you enroll in a course like this.

Because of the digital nature of the content there isn’t a blanket refund policy. However, if you feel the course is not a good fit for you complete the first module I will provide you with a refund.

By the time you complete the course you will have ...

  • a solid understanding of different FI strategies.
